Holiday Recommendation Guest Post: Kathleen Sleboda

Zak Jensen
Humans Being Human Beings
Cambridge, USA: Self-published, 2016
1 poster, ships folded (30 × 22.75 in.) with two postcards (7.5 × 5.25 in.)
Packaged in an archival plastic bag (8 x 12 in.)
Edition of 1000, individually numbered with a sticker

In this era where humane impulses are diminished in civic discourse, this poster (and sharable postcard set) are a reminder that our contemporary condition has biological and cultural dimensions. Or perhaps there are other meanings? Like much of designer’s Zak Jensen’s personal work — graphic and typographic explorations — simplicity allows for viewer interpretation.

Zak Jensen’s multiples supplement his professional practice as a graphic designer and reflect his love of simplicity, typography, and the human heart. Jensen is currently the design manager at the Harvard Art Museums in Cambridge, Massachusetts. He obtained his MFA from Yale after studying at the University of Utah.

Humans Being Human Beings is available here.

Kathleen Sleboda is a graphic designer and illustrator, co-founder of Draw Down Books, curator of Women of Graphic Design, and partner at Gluekit.
